megaman is alluded to but you don't have to know anything about it. it may seem like it does, but it's basically got nothing to do w megaman. but i guess if you like megaman, it's like an AU fanfiction?

the protomen are based in nashville, tennessee and currently have 9 members, 8 of which are consistently active in the band. they go by stage names and are usually in themed attire. it is fan etiquette to honor their privacy.

the band was founded between 2003 and 2005 at MTSU. their main albums, act i & act ii, are rock operas with liner notes in their lyric books that describe the events occuring in each song. you can read them for the full experience, but you don't need to do that to like their music! their music is intended to have revolutionary and antifascist themes.

they have released 3 studio albums and 2 live albums. they are mostly a "live band"...so they tour a lot more often than they release music. their shows are amazing and are usually between $12-$25 general admission.

"ACT I" THE PROTOMEN
released sept. 3, 2005.completed as a school project.originally released as self titled, fans named it act i, band loved it and adopted it.gritty, punk inspired.

ACT II: THE FATHER OF DEATH
released sept. 8, 2009.one half is a slow western, the other half is a synth rock sci-fi.you will cry.their most popular song, light up the night is from this album.

PRESENT: A NIGHT OF QUEEN
released june 1, 2012, performed dec. 10, 2010.it's a live album of queen covers. and they killed it.but the recording sounds bad.but the skill is superb.

THE COVER UP
released jan. 24, 2015.covers album full of classic jams.my personal favorite.has story interludes but no solid lore.

LIVE IN NASHVILLE
released sept. 10, 2020, performed july 9, 2011.taken at act i vinyl release show.not available on streaming...yet.released with a concert film.

fun facts:
they were on the vans warped tour in 2014.they have 2 songs, light up the night and this city made us, featured in rock band 4.they are almost completely diy. their label is specific to them and another artist, makeup and vanity set. they are self-managed.if you think their discography is varied, you should know that they have done collaborations with other artists that are different from anything else they've done.they performed bohemian rhapsody alongside tenacious d once.they took part in and helped with the soundtrack for a shakespearean theatre production parody of terminator 2 called terminator the second.in 2017, they released a 16 minute short film music video for light up the night.they have received recognition from styx, dennis deyoung, weird al, jack black, keiji inafune, capcom, and other big names.they don't often take down internet videos for copyright. it's usually harmless to them and exposure is good.

future releases:
"act iii", a continuation of their main albums, no release date announced.*********the "this city made us" single includes 2 songs from "act iii".

you've reached the end. it's time to start listening.
